Scheck it Oooooout

The way my master bath is set up, you can't help but check yourself out in the vanity mirror once you step out of the shower. The mirror is right there in front of the shower. And the mirror is also very high so most of the steam and condensation doesn't quite reach the area where you actually see yourself.

Believe me, this caused no small amount of anxiety when I was pregnant and shortly after giving birth. Nothing brings you quite as close to cardiac arrest as seeing big ass, big thighs, and big belly live and in living color . . . when it's your ass, your thighs, and your belly.

So I've gotten used to checking myself out everytime I climb out of the shower. And today, for the first time, I didn't clutch the towel to me (confession: I LOVE how towels feel so much bigger around me now. Love it!). I let it drop and really checked myself out. Nekkkkkkkkid as a jaybird. Dimpled thighs and all. And today, for the first time, I thought "if it wasn't for her stomach, that chick would be kinda hot!"

I'll have stomach issues until I either have a tummy tuck or the day I die. But it's a big step . . . a huge step . . . for me to NOT be repulsed by the site of myself in all my nakey glory. Weird as it is, I'm proud. I won't be parading on a beach in a bikini anytime within the next fifty million years but . . . I guess it was just nice to look at me and see the hard working paying off . . . not just see everything that's still left to do. Good feeling.

The "tummy thing" is always my issue, but I do feel like it's getting smaller. I haven't done a "side view" in a while so here's one:

Holy saggy drawers, Batman! Where did my ass go? Check that picture out compared to the one in my header. The junk has left my trunk. Of course, when big booties come in style mine has to say bye, bye, bye. That's just the kinda luck I got . . .

But I *can* see subtle changes in the tummy area. Not tummy tuck type changes but it does look a little better. I just want to one day look like a woman whose had a couple of babies. Not a woman whose had a couple of babies, a surgical debreedment, an open wound, and 85,000 pounds of scar tissue.

Switching gears.

If you love chili rellenos (and I do!) then you MUST try this recipe! I made it for dinner tonight and WOWZA! That shizz is nummy nummy num num! (In the words of my two year old).
